Essential Beliefs.

"In the essentials, unity. In the non-essentials, liberty. In all things, charity."

The Bible:

The Bible is the Word of God. We believe this is evidenced by its unfailing promises, its fulfilled prophecies, and its unprecedented ability to inspire the human heart and make right all that is wrong in the world today. We believe the bible is the final authority in all matters, both temporal and eternal. Which means all extra-biblical revelation must be tested by, and consistent with, what is written in the bible.

We also believe the bible is a contextually hyperlinked book that interprets itself. Which means the recent reinterpretation by liberal scholars and mainline churches, is in fact, the fulfillment of 1st Timothy 4:1 ESV:

"Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons..."   (Matthew 24:35, 2nd Timothy 3:16-172nd Peter 1:21, John 10:35)

God:

We believe in the one true God of the Bible: the "I Am" of the Old Testament. The father of our Lord Jesus Christ in the New Testament. And just as God created all things in a triunity, God himself is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Colossians 2:9, Isaiah 45:5, 1st Corinthians 8:6, John 8:58-59)

Jesus Christ:

We believe that Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death for all mankind, was raised from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God until His enemies are made His footstool. Through the virgin birth, God added humanity to His deity without the curse of sin. (2nd Corinthians 5:21,1st Peter 3:18, 1st Corinthians 15:3-4, Hebrews 10:12-13)

The Holy Spirit:

We believe the holy Spirit took over where Jesus left off. We believe the holy Spirit indwells every born-again believer; evidenced by the fruits of the Spirit: "Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." we believe that it is by the holy Spirit that we are all baptized into the many membered body of the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 14:26, Acts 2:2, John 3:3-7, 1st Corinthians 12:13)

The Church:

We believe there is one church, and that each local congregation is an expression of that universal Church. We believe there is an indivisible spiritual unity between all who have been born again, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 4:41st Corinthians 12:12-13Revelation 5:9Acts 2:42-47)

Sin:

We believe that, as a result of the Fall, all people are sinners by nature and in need of a Savior, and that Jesus Christ is the one and only Savior of the world. That salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in him. We believe that all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved eternally. Therefore, we believe once we are born into the family of God, nothing thereafter can separate us from His love...Nothing! (Romans 8:38-39, John 3:16, Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:18-19, Matthew 1:21, 1st John 4:14, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9)

The Resurrection:

We believe in the resurrection of the dead. Believers will be raised to life, and unbelievers to shame and everlasting condemnation (hell). (Daniel 12:2, John 5:25-29, Revelation 21:1-22:5)
