In St Matthew 21:18 Jesus curses a fig tree for not having fruit when he came to it, and the fig tree died. Why did this happen? This was only a type of what Jesus did later in 23:38 when he stood and cursed Israel (biblically refereed to as the "fig tree"), for having no spiritual fruit in their day of visitation. However, in 24:32,33 Jesus said the resurrection of this tree would be the sign of his return. On May 14th, 1948, the fig tree was reborn!
Over the centuries all of the ancient biblical civilizations, including their languages and traditions, have been destroyed; all that is, except for one...the Jews. After 1900 years, in fulfillment of the scriptures, the Jews have been regathered to their ancient "Promised Land," Israel. I submit to you, that Israel stands today as the single greatest sign of the soon return of Jesus Christ!
